POV tracking shot of dorm life... Scorsese would be proud
Oh so well done... These POV ones are some of the best on CH. I have never been one for the communal shower areas... but then I also never lived in a dorm, so didn't really have to deal with it much.

Tim Hawkins-Things you don't say to your wife
This was great, and I do like a lot of his work, but it always freaks me out when a comic is labeled in his own bio as doing 'clean' comedy. He does a lot of work to the Christian circuit... which also freaks me out.

Can you tell I have an aversion to organized religion? Just a tad?

Ahhhh, and I just read on his site "It's pretty cool that the music videos and "Full Range of Motion" clips have surpassed 2 million total views on YouTube and GodTube." *shudder*... that's just wrong... applauding people watching your comedy on godtube... uuuurgh

AHHH! C'mon Fuck A Guy!
See this fur on my face, it's because I'm a dog
And that mess on the grass? It's my self made log.

See this thing round my neck? Well that is my collar
And when I see a bitch walk by I always have to holler

See this gap between my legs, there should be my balls
And because I can't screw I get into lots of brawls

Britney Spears Live Vocal Track Isolated.
This could easily be fake, but it could also easily be real...

Will we ever know? I don't know, but it does help to make people question whether what they're seeing 'live' really is.

There are a LOT of artists who do really, you know, sing and play live, and are damn brilliant to go and see, but going to a concert like this? It's just like watching a music video really.

No thanks.

Samsung Attempt To Trump iPhone...Check Out Packaging!
Oh, I think that's some pretty awesome viral myself.

His complete 'meh' over the whole thing is brilliant... This is the sort of viral I like, it has the samsung address in there, so you know it's from them, it's funny, well done.

I give it 2 Viral Thumbs Up (2VTU).

Zero Punctuation Review: Soul Caliber IV
>> ^phelixian:
I usually agree with Yahtzee, but I whole heartedly disagree this time. Fighting games are the consoles bread and butter going way back to SF2. I bought the playstation for Tekken and Battle Arena Toshinden. PS2 for Tekken 2. And while my PS3 purchase had more to do with it's media streaming, racing and MGS4, I still love mashing buttons against faceless online opponents on Tekken. Perhaps if he had been driven to the mall by his grandma with a roll of quarters for Virtua Fighter when he was a lad like I had he'd understand it a bit more. I guarantee he couldn't beat me with the throw button, and everyone know that the AI isn't the point of fighting games, but playing against your friends IS.

You're falling into the trap of taking any of what he says personally.

HE doesn't much like these games, but YOU can like them if you want. If you feel you need to defend them so much perhaps you are uncertain of your love of them. If you love them, and are happy with loving them, then let it lie... there's sure as hell enough people who agree with you.

I used to quite like a round or two of Mortal Kombat, but noawadays I find that I have better things to do than commit to memory insane lists of button combos just so I can do the moves required.

"Emily" - Image Metrics Tech Demo
>> ^SaNdMaN:
^ What the heck are you talking about? The whole point is to surprise people that the person they've just seen explaining the technology is actually CGI. Did you think that the CGI demonstration was just the face turning red and black? That would be stupid and pointless.

The demonstration was showing that THE FACE was CG for the whole video.

Geebus.

They are showing that their motion tracking system is really great at FACES.

The rest is REAL.

You want proof? how about this?:
Using (USC's) Institute for Creative Technologies' special scanning system that can capture facial details down to the individual pore, the face of actress Emily O'Brien was transformed into a digital representation of herself, which could then be entirely machine-manipulated. A special spherical lighting rig captured O'Brien in 35 reference facial poses using a pair of high resolution digital cameras. The facial maps were then converted into 3D data using Image Metrics' proprietary markerless motion capture technology.

Gah... stop adding to the insane trend of people just making shit up on the internet and presenting it as fact.

"She was giving birth to a ferret during the filming of this video, yeah, true."

The Happy Video Game Nerd reviews Little Nemo for the NES
See, now, I've been hunting around for a platform game for my kids (the eldest two anyway, 4 and 5 yrs old), but the problem is they're either too hard to play/too hard to work out what to do, or too violent.

A game like this, only easier, would be great.

My 5 year old amazes me sometimes with what he can play though, I let him play some of Phsychonauts, and while he gets stuck in some portions, the bits that he works out, the puzzles that he nuts out are amazing.

Kinda like the lego games, he works those out too... I didn't play games until I was 7, and the ones I did play back then in 1983 were a damn site simpler than the ones they have now, so I have no idea how well I would have done at what he's playing at the age of 5!

Very misleading / ambiguous video. What parts of that scene were CG? None except for the few overlays, right? Big deal, at that resolution and without realistic rendering we can't tell how good it is.

I'm pretty sure the whole thing up until they show "the real Emily" is CG.

And what possible reason do you have to say that? I mean, WHY do people insist on saying something that they cannot back up with ANY reason?

The part where they show the face in cg overlay... THAT'S it for what they've done to the video, overlaid a CG face onto her face after using the very video they're sampling from to get the movement. Why would they show that being the only cg part if they did everything? They'd be shouting from the rooftops if it were everything, they'd deconstruct everything in the room if it were really ALL CG.

Plus, the rest of her body etc. LOOKS more real than the face... especially the mouth.

It's still darn impressive.

But again, it shows how much more you can get away with if you surround your cg in reality.

It's quite impressive, but having all the rest being real helps it enormously

I am really intrigued as to what exactly you do find to admire in Manson, seeing as you've danced around saying exactly what that is in the comments on the video?

To me he's just a really sad guy who craves love and attention and has serious, serious abandonment and authority issues.

I don't see anything, anything at all worth admiring in the man.
